Larissa was born in Chincha, Peru.
“Leave something behind that is bigger than yourself." -Cameron Boyce
Larissa joins us from Coral Springs, FL after she heard about us from influencers Andrea Russett and Nash Grier. But her passion for the water crisis can be seen after she created a project called "Strive4water" which intended to spread awareness of this issue during her senior year of High School. Larissa loves listening to music but she loves being able to make a difference in the world by helping others even more. Larissa is currently pursuing a degree in marketing, but first she's hitting the road for her first School Tour!
Ryan fell of a building at six years old directly onto his head.
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" - Martin Luther King Jr.
Ryan first learned about the water crisis after hearing a presentation from Evan Wesley who inspired him to join the fight for clean water! Ryan made his way to Los Angeles, CA from Brooklyn, NY where he studies Electrical Engineering and is a member of Circle K international at the City College of New York. Challenge Ryan to a game of Chess next time you're passing through Central Park. Ryan is inspired by people who realize that their wildest dreams are completely possible through hard work and determination and he will be helping students across the world do the same exact thing.
Justin played the Saxophone for 11 years.
“No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.” -Taylor Swift
Justin joins us from Houston, TX where is majoring in International Relations and Global Studies with a Journalism minor at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em, Horns!) Justin has a great taste in music, loves his time outdoors and appreciates an amazing educator. Inspired by passionate students who are looking to do something greater than themselves, Justin will be hitting the road for the first time this semester after finding out about Thirst Project during his Junior year of High School.
Monica traveled to 10 states in the U.S by the time she was 17.
“You get out of it, what you put into it.” - Monica's Dad
We're so glad that Monica joined our team because she has a heart of gold and she has a passion for helping others feel great. Monica's favorite activity is leg day, and when she's not pumping iron, she's busy thrifting for her next OOTD. Monica joins Justin from Houston, TX and where she graduated with a degree in Public Health with a minor in Human Development & Family Studies at the University of Houston (Go Cougs!) She originally heard about Thirst Project from a mutual friend and Road Warrior, Simone, so you better watch out for this dynamic duo.
Sarah has been to over 60 different concerts.
“All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage and I promise you something great will happen.” – Benjamin Mee, We Bought a Zoo
Sara is back for her second tour as a Road Warrior this Fall. Joining us from the City College of New York, Sara majors in Sustainable Development and Digital Photography & Media but also is a member of Circle K International and Student Government on campus. Sara is inspired by how the little things we do can create such massive ripple effects of change that many of us will never know of. Sara's favorite part of Thirst Project is getting to work and empower the young people she meets on Tour and helping everyone become an agent of change.
Lucas was born in Portugal, but has spent his entire life in New York and California.
"There is an internal landscape, a geography of the soul; we search for its outlines all our lives. Those who are lucky enough to find it ease like water over a stone, onto its fluid contours, and are home.” - Josephine Hart
Inspired by Evan Wesley as a Freshman in High School, Lucas believed he could use his voice and passionate influence to educate the next generation and empower them to change the world. Lucas joins us with a desire to collaborate with young people across the world, making real human connections, and influence a movement. Lucas is currently applying to the University of Oregon (Go Ducks) and would love to study Environmental Studies or Design with a Philosophy minor. Speaking of Philosophy, Lucas believes that we all learn from the hard times, so he looks forward to continue to skate, surf and experience life for all it's good and bad.
Mikayla's Hogwarts house is Slytherin and she is left handed.
“There is no spoon.” -The Matrix
Thirst Project is lucky to have Mikayla on board because she believes that it is so critical for young students to find their purpose in something beyond themselves. She loves to create art, make clothes and even can even help you out with embroidery, but in reality Mikayla is usually just watching TED talks. Mikayla plans to study Intercultural Ministry after she finishes her stint as a Road Warrior, but she'll always enjoy listening to others talk about their passion and what makes them tick! Mikayla might have started in Southern California but she's headed to a city near you this semester!
Paul has a dog named Nacho.
“I am Groot.” - Groot
After first hearing about Thirst Project in High School, Paul knew that he had to be a part of all the amazing things that are being accomplished here. With a passion for creativity, art & music, Paul is currently pursuing a career in Photography. He also was born in Southern California, so Paul has had plenty of opportunities to explore new & unique places and meet so many different types of people. Please put up your "shaka brah" and wish Paul a chill semester on the Road!
Katie had a guest appearance on House Hunters International.
“Guess what, I have flaws. What are they? Oh I don't know. I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me.” - Michael Scott
She might have only recently graduated a High School but Katie's already well on her way to changing the world. Katie was born in Guatemala but raised in Colorado where she loves to doing REAL hiking (she thinks Runyon Canyon is a joke). Katie also LOVES proving people wrong, and appreciates an inclusive environment. We have her sister Allie, her friend & past Road Warrior Meghan and her spirit guide Kellen to thank for her presence this semester!
Charlotte has visited 40 countries and all 50 states.
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
The suburbs of Chicago have gotten even colder since Charlotte left to join our team of Road Warriors this semester! She holds a degree in International Business with a concentration in Mandarin at High Point University (Go Panthers!) right now. After a text from her best friend, Charlotte fell in love with our mission and knew she had to join our movement! Charlotte is excited to meet thousands of inspiring and motivated people all over the country and she is inspired by watching people chase their dreams, regardless of what experience or “qualifications” they have.
Simone does stand up comedy at open mic nights. *crickets*
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” - Dr. Seuss
A recent graduate of the University of Houston (Go Cougs, again!) Simone was a part of the Dance ensemble on campus and graduated with a degree in Public Health and minor in Dance. Simone first learned about the Thirst Project after a Road Warrior presentation at her High School in Houston, TX. She is in love with the support, passion and knowledge that Thirst Project shares with others and Simone appreciates anyone who goes out of their way to help others even when it may inconvenience them.
Maria speaks six (6) languages!
"Do, or do not; there is no try." - Yoda
Maria graduated with a degree in Philosophy, Classics & Archaeology, and Mandarin at Loyola Marymount University. Thirst Project feels like a natural fit after Maria served in Peace Corps Panama where she found her passion for W.A.S.H. (water, sanitation and hygiene)! Her favorite activities include playing sports, spending time with her siblings and family, and finding trendy (but yummy!) restaurants all over the world!
