BLOG: Chyler Leigh and Nathan West Are Among Our 2012 Thirst Gala Honorees

May 29th, 2012

Every year we get so much help from so many rock stars that it seems silly to try and pick just a few to be honored. But for our annual Thirst Gala, our Selection Committee tries their best to pinpoint the people and companies that have helped Thirst Project in some of the greatest ways the last year.

This year, the Volunteer Award goes to Shiran Witt, who put in more time in 2011 than any other volunteers. Selfless and dedicated, Shiran is the epitome of the kind of person we want on our team. We can’t wait to honor her next month at our Gala!

The Vision Award goes to a company or corporation that has been exceptionally generous to Thirst and helped raise awareness of our mission. OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network, has done just that, and been behind us 110% in our dedication to bringing clean water to Swaziland.

Chrissy Pfeiffer, Power Of Youth Honoree At The Thirst Project Gala 2012 Our Power of Youth Award goes to Chrissy Pfeiffer, the enthusiastic and fearless leader of Purdue University’s Thirst Project chapter. She recruited others to get involved with Thirst and never stops planning events and trying to raise money to help build fresh water wells. Watch Seth tell Chrissy that she is an Honoree!

Chyler Leigh and Nathan West, Pioneering Spirit Award Honorees, Thirst Project Gala 2012

Finally, our Pioneering Spirit Award goes to Chyler Leigh and her husband Nathan West. Despite being very busy with acting and producing careers – Chyler was a series regular on “Grey’s Anatomy” for many years – they both made time to support Thirst Project, by reaching out to the media, making public appearances and even personally funding wells.

We can’t wait to congratulate these Honorees on June 26th! They are truly inspiring and it’s the least we can do to say thanks.
