Thirst Project’s Seth Maxwell Has Been Nominated For A ‘Do Something’ Award!

April 26th, 2012

People do good for the sake of helping others and improving the planet, but it’s always nice to be recognized for those efforts! Therefore, we’re very happy to report that Thirst Project founder and CEO Seth Maxwell has been nominated asa semi-finalist for Do Something’s 2012 awards.

The 24-year-old’s claim to non-profit fame is that he started Thirst Project when he was only 19 and since then has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to build wells across the globe. The water provided by Thirst Project’s wells has saved countless lives and allowed entire communities to thrive.

Seth is one of eleven semi-finalists. The grand prize winner will receive $100,000, and up to four finalists will be given $10,000.  A well costs between $5,000 and $15,000 to build, so think of all the people that might be helped by a donation like this!

The Do Something Award Show will air in August on VH1. Last year, Jane Lynch of “Glee” hosted the event and Lady Gaga,  Justin Bieber, David BeckhamOlivia WildeWill Ferrell were all in attendance. Demi LovatoOne RepublicB.o.B. and Foster the People all performed. Watch the awesome promo below.
